Director of Transformation

About the role

The Director of Transformation will lead strategic change across Barnet's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services. Reporting to the Chief Executive and Director of Education and Learning, the role works closely with the Director of SEND and Inclusion to enhance outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a transformation agenda that builds on existing high‑quality standards.
• Maintain and strengthen partnerships with schools, social care, health, further education and the Barnet Parent Carer Forum.
• Ensure statutory deadlines are met for assessments, EHCPs and quality assurance processes.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a supportive culture and promoting staff wellbeing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and monitor their impact on service delivery.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience within SEND, education or a comparable public sector environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver strategic outcomes.
• Strong understanding of statutory requirements and inclusion best practices.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
