Director - Trade MC Sales

About the role

As a Director in Trade MC Sales you will help businesses navigate complex trade and working‑capital challenges while building trusted relationships. Based in Leeds, you will work within the Commercial Banking Coverage team to deliver tailored Trade Finance solutions that support client growth and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the regional trade sales strategy in partnership with coverage and product partners.
• Identify client needs and structure Trade Finance solutions, including Letters of Credit, Collections, Bonds, Guarantees and Indemnities.
• Drive income and asset growth across your portfolio and generate new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Credit, specialist product teams and external market partners to deliver integrated client outcomes.
• Maintain a strong external presence, influencing senior stakeholders both inside and outside the bank.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Trade Finance or related commercial banking roles.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of revenue generation.
• Excellent relationship‑building and business‑development skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership experience at senior level, capable of influencing senior clients and internal partners.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Trade Finance products such as Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Bonds and Indemnities.
• Understanding of working‑capital and risk‑management solutions for corporate clients.
