Disability Assessor – Registered Nurse (Hybrid)

About the role

The Disability Assessor role involves conducting telephone assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions. You will analyse clinical information and medical evidence, interpret functional ability, and produce concise professional reports while working autonomously with support from a clinical management team.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake telephone assessments for PIP claimants.
• Analyse and interpret clinical and medical evidence relating to functional ability.
• Prepare comprehensive, concise assessment reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the clinical management team for guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to DWP standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
• At least one year post‑registration experience.
• Current NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.

Required skills

• Excellent communication, organisation and time‑management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate various IT systems.
• Capability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience across a range of clinical settings.
