Dispatch Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to lead the dispatch function at a long‑established global manufacturing business in Stockport. The role involves overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring accurate order fulfilment and supporting the company’s continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily activities of the dispatch team.
• Allocate workloads, monitor performance and achieve operational targets.
• Coordinate order priorities with the Customer Service department.
• Ensure orders are picked, packed and labelled accurately to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain product traceability, stock accuracy and manage inventory movements via the ERP system.
• Print and request product labels with correct codes, descriptions and batch information.
• Load and unload vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck when required.
• Assist customers and visitors in a professional manner.
• Support performance management, coaching and development of team members.
• Promote health and safety procedures and drive continuous improvement in the warehouse and dispatch operation.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse or dispatch environment.
• Externally accredited Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (expired licences may be considered).
• Experience coordinating pick, pack and dispatch operations.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
• Good IT skills, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
• Effective communication and leadership capabilities.
