Dispensing Optician – Flexible Part‑Time/Contract Role

About the role

Vision Express is seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to join its High Wycombe store. You will work directly with customers, providing bespoke eyewear solutions and supporting the retail team in delivering expert eye‑care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses from premium brands such as Ray‑Ban, Oakley and Prada.
• Interpret and verify optical prescriptions, ensuring accurate record‑keeping.
• Provide advice on managing common eye conditions, including dry eye and myopia.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of optical trends, industry regulations and product ranges.
• Collaborate with the retail team to achieve sales targets and deliver high‑quality customer service.

Required profile

• Approved qualification to practice as a Dispensing Optician in the UK.
• Registration with the General Optical Council.
• Flexibility to discuss preferred working patterns, including part‑time or compressed weeks.

Required skills

• Understanding of optical prescriptions and accurate record maintenance.
• Knowledge of the latest optical trends and industry regulations.
• Familiarity with managing conditions such as dry eye and myopia.
