About the role

We are seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to join a patient‑focused independent practice in Bishop’s Stortford. The role offers a leadership opportunity within a modern, community‑oriented boutique setting, delivering high‑quality optical care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a close‑knit team of 4‑5 staff members.
• Work alongside another experienced Dispensing Optician four days a week.
• Provide an exceptional patient journey in a single‑room practice.
• Dispense a wide range of designer frames, including luxury brands.
• Offer specialist services such as paediatric eyewear and myopia control.
• Support training and development of the wider team.
• Manage stock, orders and supplier relationships.
• Contribute ideas to shape practice operations and growth.

Required profile

• GOC‑registered Dispensing Optician.
• Friendly, confident and passionate about patient care.
• Comfortable using modern digital workflows.
• Interest in fashion and styling is a plus.
• Team‑oriented with a proactive, hands‑on approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital dispensing systems and paperless workflows.
