Distribution Team Leader – Atherton

About the role

Lyreco is seeking a Distribution Team Leader to join its Regional Distribution Centre in Atherton. Reporting to the RDC Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, support delivery drivers and ensure a high level of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RDC Manager in supervising a team of delivery drivers, providing relief cover for holidays, sickness and training.
• Occasionally travel to other depots, including Edinburgh and Aberdeen, as required.
• Load and unload trucks delivering furniture or general office products, maintaining accurate order handling.
• Assist with pallet breakdown, sortation of goods into route order, and random vehicle checks.
• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections, report mechanical faults, GV9 offences or accidents promptly.
• Participate in recruiting and onboarding new staff members.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of the Highway Code and regulations governing delivery vehicles.
• Working knowledge of tachographs and EU working‑time directives.
• Strong supervisory, communication and planning abilities.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Valid C1 driving licence, CPC and up‑to‑date tachograph card.
