Document Controller – Energy, Transmission & Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking a Document Controller with experience in the energy, transmission or oil & gas sectors to join a fast‑growing engineering services firm in Newcastle. You will work within a small, tight‑knit project support team, ensuring that all project documentation and drawing packs are accurate, up‑to‑date and correctly distributed.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update project documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
• Review drawing packs and apply required changes in AutoCAD (training provided).
• Distribute documents to the appropriate engineering and project teams.
• Ensure the document control system remains current and compliant.
• Provide occasional on‑site support to client locations (approximately 4‑5 visits per year).
• Support the wider project team with ad‑hoc administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Document Controller or in a similar role within Energy, Transmission, Substations or Oil & Gas.
• Ability to commute to Newcastle Upon Tyne.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred for site visits).

Required skills

• AutoCAD (or willingness to be trained).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
