Domestic Abuse Support Worker – Bexhill

About the role
Join a dedicated team in Bexhill to provide trauma‑informed, person‑centred support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. You will work within a refuge and the wider community, helping clients rebuild independence and move toward safer futures.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments to identify safety concerns and support requirements.
- Develop and implement individual care plans that promote recovery, rehabilitation and long‑term stability.
- Deliver one‑to‑one key work sessions, structured interventions and group support programmes.
- Assist clients in accessing housing, healthcare, benefits and specialist services.
- Collaborate with local authorities, housing providers, police and partner agencies to coordinate effective support.
- Provide housing benefit advice and help secure long‑term accommodation.
- Apply safeguarding procedures and professional de‑escalation techniques.
Required profile
- Women only – occupational requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010.
- Experience working with domestic abuse survivors, refugees, or vulnerable adults.
- Understanding of complex needs such as mental health, homelessness, substance misuse and offending behaviour.
- Ability to work a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, averaging 40.25 hours per week.
