Domestic Assistant – Care Home

About the role

As a Domestic Assistant at Bearehill Care Home, you will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for up to 49 residents. Your work will directly support the wellbeing, dignity and comfort of each resident through high‑standard cleaning and laundry assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene.
• Support laundry services, ensuring personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.
• Follow infection control, health and safety, and cleaning procedures for all tasks.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working order.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the senior staff.
• Collaborate with the wider care team to ensure a respectful and comfortable environment.

Required profile

• Positive and reliable approach with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for interacting with staff and residents.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial; previous experience welcomed but not essential.
