Domestic Assistant – Sheltered Housing (1‑Year Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our sheltered housing team on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will help maintain clean, safe and welcoming communal areas and guest rooms for residents aged 55 and over.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional cleaning services across lounges, corridors, kitchens, toilets, offices, storage areas and guest rooms.
• Prepare and tidy guest rooms according to bookings, ensuring high standards of hygiene.
• Carry out health and safety checks, report hazards or faulty equipment promptly.
• Support residents with a friendly attitude and direct any repairs or tenancy concerns to the appropriate teams.
• Work flexibly across multiple sheltered housing sites as service needs arise.

Required profile

• Previous experience in cleaning or domestic services with a strong focus on hygiene.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements, including COSHH and infection control.
• Ability to interact positively with older and vulnerable people, showing empathy and respect.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and able to prioritise tasks independently.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills.
