Domestic Store Operative

About the role

The Domestic Store Operative will support the logistics and stores service at Southampton General Hospital. Working Monday to Friday, 7:00 am‑3:00 pm, you will help maintain agreed stock levels and ensure a safe, efficient environment for staff and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain minimal stock levels as agreed with the Logistics Manager.
• Accept, process and record goods movements in and out of the store.
• Allocate uniforms and PPE to employees and complete related paperwork.
• Keep work areas tidy, secure and safely stored.
• Support the logistics team with deliveries and ad‑hoc duties.
• Attend mandatory health & safety training and staff meetings.

Required profile

• Consistent approach to delivering logistics services.
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Excellent customer service for internal and external users.
• Ability to use own initiative and solve day‑to‑day problems.
• Flexible attitude, willing to work additional hours when needed.
• Team‑oriented and self‑motivated.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (desirable).
