Drainage Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Engineer to join a family‑run drainage specialist serving South Wales, Bristol and surrounding areas. The role focuses on CCTV drainage surveys and repair work, with no excavation required.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out CCTV drainage surveys and produce detailed reports for customers and insurers.
• Identify defects, cracks, collapses and blockages in drainage systems.
• Read and interpret drainage maps and plans.
• Perform drain patching, lining and fibreglass patch lining repairs.
• Undertake general drainage maintenance and repair tasks.
• Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service on every job.
• Work safely in line with health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Drainage Engineer.
• Proven CCTV drainage surveying experience.
• Good knowledge of drainage systems, repairs and mapping.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate survey reports.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points).
• Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check (employer‑paid).

What we offer

• Salary £30,000‑£33,000 per year (DOE).
• Overtime and on‑call payments (£75 standby, double time after 10 pm and on Sundays).
• Company van for business use.
• 45 minutes of unpaid travel each way, paid thereafter.
• 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑17:00.
