Drainage Operative – Night Shift (Haywards Heath)

About the role

Join FM Conway’s Water and Drainage Management team as a Night‑shift Drainage Operative. Working alongside an experienced HGV driver in a two‑person crew, you will carry out planned gully maintenance, respond to emergency call‑outs and develop specialist drainage skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support HGV Drainage Engineers with drainage maintenance and repair.
• Assist with High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) and CCTV drainage surveys.
• Perform drainage cleaning, investigations and scheduled maintenance.
• Respond to emergency and reactive drainage call‑outs.
• Operate the GIS Trimble system according to company procedures.
• Work safely using specialist vehicles and equipment.

Required profile

• Enjoys practical, hands‑on work and takes pride in delivering a great service.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Positive, reliable attitude and team‑oriented mindset.
• Previous drainage experience is beneficial but not essential; HPWJ, street works or confined‑space experience is a plus.
