Drama Teacher (0.9 FTE) – Redhill, Surrey

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Drama Teacher to join an outstanding secondary school in Redhill, Surrey, from September 2026. The role is 0.9 FTE, working nine days out of every ten across a two‑week timetable, and will be based in a purpose‑built Creative Arts block.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver drama lessons to Year 7‑8 pupils (two hours every two weeks) covering a range of theatre genres and social issues.
• Teach Year 9, GCSE and A‑level drama classes, following the Edexcel syllabus, with increasing lesson frequency.
• Lead and support extracurricular activities, including lunchtime clubs, a sixth‑form drama group, and the school musical production.
• Utilise the school’s specialist facilities – rehearsal studios with stage lighting grids, sound equipment, and a flexible studio theatre – to enhance student learning.
• Collaborate with a team of four specialist drama teachers to develop curriculum and share best practices.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching drama at secondary level, preferably with knowledge of the Edexcel syllabus.
• Ability to manage and inspire students aged 11‑18 in both classroom and performance settings.

Required skills

• Understanding of stage lighting and sound equipment operation.
• Proficiency in planning and delivering curriculum aligned with national standards.
