About the role
Academics is partnering with a leading independent school in Dacorum to recruit an inspiring Drama Teacher on a one‑year fixed‑term contract starting September 2026. You will join a vibrant performing‑arts community, delivering engaging drama lessons to secondary students and contributing to the school’s rich theatrical life.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess high‑quality drama lessons across the secondary age range.
- Create an inclusive, creative classroom environment that encourages confidence and collaboration.
- Support and lead school productions, performances and extracurricular activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold high standards of teaching and learning.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
- Proven experience teaching drama at secondary level.
- Passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts.
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
Required skills
- Curriculum planning and assessment for drama.
- Ability to motivate students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
