Drama Teacher – Secondary School (London)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and inspirational Drama Teacher to join the vibrant Drama department of a highly regarded secondary school in Hackney, East London. The role involves teaching Drama to KS3 and KS4 pupils, with the possibility of delivering KS5 lessons, and contributing to a supportive and collaborative SLT team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging Drama lessons for KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5) students.
• Develop and enrich the Drama curriculum in line with national initiatives.
• Use data and performance metrics to raise student achievement and inform teaching practice.
• Collaborate with the Head of Drama and other faculty members to maintain high standards across the department.
• Support pupils academically, socially and pastorally, fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching secondary‑age Drama.
• Proven track record of improving pupil performance and delivering outstanding lessons.
• Commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusive education.
• Resilience, a good sense of humour and the ability to work under pressure.
• Passion for Drama and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and management.
