Drill Machine Operator – CNC Milling (Full‑time Temporary)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established engineering manufacturer in Cirencester, is seeking an experienced Drill Machine Operator to join the production team on a full‑time, temporary basis. The role involves setting and operating a CNC milling machine, loading materials and tooling, and producing high‑quality components to engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate an XYZ SMX 4000 milling machine using a ProtoTRAK/ProTRAK controller.
• Load, secure and adjust materials, tooling and fixtures, including offsets.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce components to tight tolerances.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Use measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges to verify dimensions.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating CNC milling machines in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with measuring tools and working to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of health and safety in a machine shop.
• Reliable, practical and quality‑focused approach.
