Driver and Branch Sales Assistant

About the role

Join City Plumbing as a Driver and Branch Sales Assistant on a flexible 20‑37.5 hour week. You will combine vehicle deliveries with front‑of‑house sales support, helping customers receive the right products on time while promoting the branch’s sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety standards for yourself and your vehicle.
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance and report any issues promptly.
• Comply with all transport legislation and company compliance policies.
• Support the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager in achieving sales targets and optimal margins.
• Provide first‑class service to customers on the trade counter and via telephone.
• Perform telesales calls and assist with product enquiries.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the trade counter and warehouse areas.

Required profile

• Valid clean driving licence with previous driving experience.
• Flexibility to work additional hours during peak winter heating season.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work well with branch colleagues.
• Interest or knowledge of plumbing products is advantageous.

Required skills

• Safe driving and vehicle maintenance.
• Basic product knowledge of plumbing supplies.
• Effective telephone communication and sales techniques.
