Driver / Branch Assistant

About the role

Williams Trade Supplies is looking for a Driver / Branch Assistant to join its Reading team. The role covers both preparing goods for delivery and making the deliveries, so attention to detail and excellent customer service are essential. Hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00 or 07:00-15:30 on rota, with no weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver orders safely, efficiently and with excellent customer service
• Use forklifts (if qualified, or after training) and other mechanical aids
• Pick goods and prepare orders for delivery
• Receipt, store and replenish goods
• Carry out inventory control
• Keep the warehouse clean, tidy and safe
• Carry out general branch duties supporting the team

Required profile

• A full UK driving licence is essential
• Previous forklift experience and qualifications are ideal but not essential, as full in-house forklift training is provided
• Highly accurate, able to work in a physically demanding role, respectful of health and safety rules, keen to meet deadlines and a great team player
