Driver – Lifting Equipment Delivery

About the role

Join GAP's Lifting Division as a Driver and play a vital part in keeping construction and infrastructure projects moving. You will deliver, collect and demonstrate essential hire equipment such as hoists, slings and winches across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and collect lifting equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (damage checks, fuel levels, authorised signatures).
• Conduct on‑site equipment demonstrations when required.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
• Safely load and unload equipment using correct strapping and securing methods.
• Tag damaged equipment on return and place it in the appropriate depot area.
• Maintain a clean, organised vehicle and support general depot duties.
• Follow customer site Health & Safety rules and use digital tachographs in line with legislation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a driving role, ideally delivering hire equipment.
• Full UK driving licence (towing experience and Digi Tacho card are desirable).
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete paperwork accurately.
• Professional, friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.
