About the role
The Driver Team Leader is responsible for managing a vehicle and a team of loaders to collect, transport, and dispose of waste safely and efficiently. This full‑time position works 44.25 hours per week and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean and tidy.
- Liaise with the onsite workshop for vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Council health & safety regulations and safe systems of work.
- Oversee a team of loaders, guaranteeing they wear required uniform and PPE.
- Collect, transport, and dispose of various waste types according to operational and legislative specifications.
- Model zero tolerance for health and safety breaches and highlight training needs to Operations Supervisors.
- Coordinate resources to meet agreed work programmes, operational guidance, and contractual terms.
Required profile
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence.
- Uniform and PPE will be provided.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
