Dual Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Homes (EBD)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead two children’s residential homes in Croydon, providing specialist care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The role combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day operational management, ensuring high‑quality, trauma‑informed services.

Key responsibilities

• Hold and maintain Ofsted registration for both homes.
• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the two services.
• Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and quality standards.
• Lead, coach and develop Deputy Managers and staff through regular supervision.
• Drive safeguarding practice and a child‑centred culture.
• Monitor quality via audits, action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage budgets, staffing levels, occupancy and resources.
• Build relationships with local authorities, placing authorities, education, health and external agencies.
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, keeping homes inspection‑ready.
• Promote therapeutic, trauma‑informed approaches to achieve positive outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager in children’s residential settings.
• Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted inspection processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑site operations and develop staff.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with external partners.
