Duty Manager – 27‑hour part‑time role

About the role

Heron Foods is looking for a proactive Duty Manager to lead a store in New Ferry, Wirral. Working 27 hours per week, you will be the key point of contact when the Store Manager is absent, ensuring smooth daily operations and a high‑quality customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Motivate and supervise the store team to achieve sales and service targets.
• Maintain store presentation, cleanliness and stock levels.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Open and close the store as a keyholder, managing cash and security procedures.
• Drive profitability by monitoring performance and implementing efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a retail supervisory or managerial role (e.g., Retail Supervisor, Shift Manager, Assistant Manager).
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
• Customer‑focused attitude with a proactive, energetic approach.
