Duty Manager – Didcot Wave & Gym

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Duty Manager to lead the daily operations of Didcot Wave & Gym. You will ensure the centre is ready for members, oversee the pool and gym facilities, and provide a welcoming experience for all visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Open and prepare the leisure centre each day, including setting up equipment and ordering supplies.
• Maintain security, cleanliness, and equipment standards throughout the facility.
• Supervise and allocate work to staff on shift, handling recruitment, absences, appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Assist customers with facility use, promote programme participation and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Implement pool safety and operating procedures and conduct regular checks.
• Support energy‑conservation initiatives and general housekeeping improvements.

• Calm under pressure and able to make quick decisions.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work with diverse visitors and staff.
