Duty Technician – 12‑month contract – up to £350/day

About the role

The Duty Technician provides essential on‑site technical support for a fast‑moving supply‑chain environment. Working a 12‑hour shift pattern (4 days on, 4 days off) at the Hursley site near Winchester, you will ensure smooth operation of hardware and software assets while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incoming technical support incidents, requests and changes.
• Manage a personal call queue, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
• Resolve issues ranging from simple password resets to complex server queries.
• Escalate incidents to the 3rd‑Line Technical Delivery Team when required.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Development, Projects and 3rd‑Line support.
• Perform software builds and rebuilds on PCs and laptops.
• Diagnose and repair hardware faults, installing upgrades to client hardware.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Eligible for BPSS and SC clearance and 5 years unbroken UK residency.
• Willing and able to work 12‑hour shifts (7 am‑7 pm / 7 pm‑7 am) on a 4‑on/4‑off rota.
• Comfortable working on‑site at the Hursley location.
