EAD Circuit Designer – Remote Telecom Network Engineer

About the role

This contract position supports a major telecom delivery programme focused on Ethernet Access Direct (EAD), leased line and carrier Ethernet circuits for utility, power and sub‑station sites across the UK. Working remotely, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert to produce safe, installable and compliant design packs for complex environments affected by electromagnetic interference, Earth Potential Rise and other utility constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Design, validate and deliver EAD/Ethernet access circuit solutions in line with BT Openreach processes.
• Assess site feasibility, access constraints and EMI/EPR requirements based on surveys and technical inputs.
• Produce high‑level (HLD) and low‑level (LLD) design documentation, circuit routing and feasibility assessments.
• Generate complete design packs, including cabinet specifications, ventilation, cable entry and earthing details.
• Collaborate with survey, design and delivery teams to ensure implementation‑ready outputs and minimise rework.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with BT Openreach EAD delivery and fibre access design.
• Strong knowledge of telecom infrastructure in utility, sub‑station, power, rail or industrial environments.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and manage contract deliverables.
