Early Career Teacher – Secondary Schools (Hertfordshire)

About the role

We are seeking an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a secondary school in Hertfordshire. This full‑time position starts in September and offers a supportive induction programme, mentoring and clear pathways for progression.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum for KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available).
• Monitor and support student progress, providing targeted feedback.
• Collaborate with experienced teachers and mentors to refine classroom practice.
• Contribute to a positive, well‑managed learning environment.
• Fully engage with the structured ECT induction programme.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending completion.
• Specialism in a secondary subject area (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL).
• Strong communication and classroom‑management abilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Positive, proactive and reliable attitude.
