Early Years Educator – Level 6 Nursery Lead

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Level 6 Early Years Educator to lead and support a small nursery of 13 children within a one‑form entry primary school in Chiswick, London. The role is full‑time, permanent and works closely with the Reception Teacher and a dedicated Teaching Assistant to ensure a smooth transition to Reception and high‑quality early years provision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operation of the nursery, maintaining high standards of care and education.
• Collaborate with the Reception Teacher to plan and deliver the Early Years curriculum across the Foundation Stage.
• Supervise and support the Teaching Assistant, fostering a positive team environment.
• Create a warm, stimulating learning environment and deliver play‑based activities in line with the EYFS framework.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and staff.
• Observe, assess and record children’s progress, planning next steps.
• Implement safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies.
• Contribute to the development of the wider Early Years provision.

Required profile

• Level 6 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, preferably with leadership or supervisory duties.
• Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a wider Early Years team.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Warm, positive, proactive attitude with a passion for young children’s learning.
