Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant

About the role

This temporary, term‑time position supports the EYFS class in Bispham, Blackpool. You will work alongside the class teacher to deliver a creative, whole‑child curriculum that blends indoor learning with the school’s unique Beach School outdoor experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering EYFS activities aligned with the "Whole Child" approach.
• Model and reinforce the school’s core values: Ready, Respectful, and Safe.
• Use communication‑friendly strategies to promote speech and language development in line with ELKLAN status.
• Support outdoor learning sessions, including beach‑based lessons.
• Provide a nurturing, trauma‑informed environment for all learners.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent Early Years qualification.
• Proven experience working in an EYFS setting.
• Warm, patient and empathetic attitude that matches the school’s inclusive culture.
• Interest or experience in outdoor learning and trauma‑informed practice is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EYFS curriculum standards.
• Ability to implement communication‑friendly teaching techniques.
• Experience supporting outdoor and experiential learning activities.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.25‑£15.25, dependent on experience.
• Term‑time only contract (September 2026 – December/April 2027).
• Full‑day hours, Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑3:30 pm.
