Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school team in Liverpool. This role supports the development and learning of young children in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, age‑appropriate EYFS lessons.
• Support children’s learning across communication, literacy, numeracy and personal, social and emotional development.
• Create a safe and stimulating classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.
• Work with small groups or one‑to‑one to address targeted learning needs.
• Observe and record children’s progress, reporting concerns to the teacher or SENCo.
• Prepare learning materials and classroom resources.

Required profile

• Level 2 or 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an EYFS setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Passion for supporting young children’s learning journeys.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring and proactive attitude.
