Early Years Manager (Nursery Level 6)

About the role

This full‑time Early Years Manager role supports the Nursery Manager across multiple nurseries, delivering high‑quality education for children from birth to school age. You will lead curriculum development, safeguarding and inclusive practice while ensuring compliance with the EYFS framework.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Nursery Manager with day‑to‑day operational duties.
• Lead the delivery of EYFS‑aligned teaching, learning and assessment.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and manage safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain child protection records and liaise with external agencies.
• Oversee curriculum planning and ensure engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Serve as SENCO, promoting inclusive practice and working with families and professionals.
• Build strong partnerships with parents to support children’s progress.
• Support recruitment, induction, performance management and professional development of staff.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ leadership experience in an early years setting.
• Previous role as Nursery Manager, Early Years Manager, Head of Nursery or similar.
• Early Years qualification at Level 6, Level 7 or higher.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Understanding of safeguarding legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in curriculum development and high‑quality teaching.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and external agencies.
