Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant – Hackney

About the role

We are seeking a caring and proactive Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in Hackney. You will work within the EYFS setting, supporting young children with special educational needs, including physical disabilities, ASD, and developmental delays.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils, assisting with mobility, personal care and access to learning activities.
• Promote early communication, social interaction and sensory development.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with young children with SEN, especially in Early Years.
• Experience supporting children with physical needs or disabilities is highly desirable.
• Comfortable providing personal care and mobility assistance when needed.
• Patient, nurturing and attentive to individual needs.
• Willing to commit to a full‑time role in Hackney.
