Early Years Teaching Assistant – Crewe

About the role
Astro Education is partnering with a primary school in Crewe to recruit a caring Early Years Teaching Assistant for the Reception class. You will help deliver engaging EYFS activities and support children’s first steps in formal education.
Key responsibilities
- Support children in a Reception classroom, planning and delivering EYFS‑aligned activities.
- Assist key children with their learning and development.
- Set up safe, stimulating indoor and outdoor play environments.
- Help with observations, learning journals and progress tracking.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents and carers.
- Promote health, safety and wellbeing for all children.
Required profile
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education.
- Experience working with children aged 0–5 (paid or voluntary).
- Nurturing, patient and positive attitude.
- Understanding of the EYFS framework.
- DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
