Early Years Teaching Assistant (EYFS)

About the role

Join a welcoming primary school in Lancashire as an Early Years Teaching Assistant. You will work closely with the EYFS team to create a safe, inclusive environment where young children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning activities within the EYFS classroom.
• Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions.
• Encourage development through play‑based learning and exploration.
• Assist with observations, assessments and learning journals.
• Promote positive behaviour and help children build confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to support pupil progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in an Early Years, school, nursery or childcare setting.
• Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare or Early Years qualification (desirable).
• Good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and framework.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach with a commitment to safeguarding.
