About the role
This full‑time Early Years Teaching Assistant role supports a primary school in Newham, delivering engaging learning experiences for children aged 0‑5 in line with the EYFS framework. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, nurturing environment where young learners can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering EYFS‑aligned activities.
- Work with pupils individually and in small groups to develop communication, language, social, early literacy and numeracy skills.
- Encourage learning through play and support classroom routines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
- Provide positive behaviour support and help manage transitions.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a nursery, preschool or other Early Years setting.
- Passion for supporting children’s early development.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient nature.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and families.
Required skills
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
