EC&I Technician – Pharmaceutical

About the role

The EC&I Technician will manage pharmaceutical projects from control hand‑over through Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and operator training at customer sites. The role involves assembling control panels, supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and travelling globally for up to three weeks at a time to deliver on‑site qualification and training.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS policy and ISO‑9001 QMS.
• Build and assemble control systems and panels.
• Support external suppliers to meet panel standards.
• Perform Pre‑FAT and FAT, acting as the customer contact for control aspects.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
• Provide regular project updates to Operations, Project and Control Engineers.
• Coordinate with Control Engineers from design to build stage.
• Issue marked‑up drawings and parts lists to the assigned Control Engineer.
• Attend client facilities for electrical reconnection, IQ/OQ activities and equipment training.
• Assist the service team with planned and unplanned maintenance at customer sites.
• Mentor and coach team members to uphold high work standards.

Required profile

• Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience in a similar EC&I role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate within a team.
