ECT Primary Teacher – Temporary Cover in Cambridge

About the role

We are seeking newly qualified teachers (NQT/ECT) to provide temporary cover in primary schools across Cambridge and surrounding areas. The role starts in September 2026 and may involve day‑to‑day cover or longer‑term assignments depending on each school's needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson plans and ensure all pupils are engaged and motivated.
• Maintain classroom discipline and follow the school's safeguarding policies.
• Complete marking and assessment at the end of each day and return work to reception.
• Record attendance and any relevant observations using the school's IT systems.
• Adapt to varying cover schedules and communicate any issues to the school leadership.

Required profile

• Currently completing a teaching degree in primary education or holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Newly qualified teacher (NQT) or Early‑Career Teacher (ECT) status.
• Willingness to work flexible, ad‑hoc cover days.
• Commitment to child safeguarding and professional conduct.
