Editorial Operations Manager – UK

About the role

We are looking for an Editorial Operations Manager to lead our UK editorial teams delivering high‑quality legal and tax analysis. You will drive operational excellence, embed AI‑enabled workflows and ensure scalable, timely content production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of UK‑based editors producing analytical content for legal and tax portfolios such as Halsbury’s Laws of England and the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia of the Laws of Scotland.
• Integrate AI and large language models into editorial processes, applying editorial judgment to validate and refine outputs.
• Define, own and communicate performance KPIs; manage dashboards, production schedules and productivity targets.
• Maintain content quality, timeliness and completeness, taking corrective action when needed.
• Build cross‑training and operational flexibility across analytical editorial functions.
• Coach, develop and evaluate team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with commercial, global operations and technology teams to align delivery with customer and business priorities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading and developing people in a complex operational environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in law preferred or equivalent experience with legal content.
• Proven track record of deploying AI in content or knowledge workflows and scaling operating models.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with data‑driven decision‑making.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through organisational change.
