Education Law Solicitor – Hybrid (Nottingham/Remote)

About the role

Richard Nelson LLP is seeking an experienced Education Solicitor to join its specialist Education Law Team. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of education‑law matters, representing teachers, students and parents across primary, secondary and higher education contexts. You will operate in a hybrid setting, based in Nottingham with remote flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload across multiple areas of education law, ensuring high professional standards.
• Conduct case management and representation for clients in admissions appeals, school exclusions, SEN/EHCP matters, university investigations and related disputes.
• Utilise time‑recording systems and IT tools efficiently to maintain cost‑effective practice.
• Provide specialist legal advice on EHCP applications, assessments, appeals, and visa or fitness‑to‑practice issues for university students.
• Contribute to business development and promote the firm’s education law services.
• Stay up‑to‑date with developments in education law and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with proven experience in education law.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and a diverse client base.
