About the role

Richard Nelson LLP is seeking an experienced Education Law Solicitor to join its specialist Education Law Team. The role involves advising and representing teachers, students, parents and educational institutions across a wide range of complex legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering admissions appeals, school exclusions, independent school disputes, SEN/EHCP matters, and university‑level issues such as sexual allegations and visa applications.
• Conduct case management efficiently, ensuring compliance with firm policies and cost‑effective practice.
• Maintain accurate time‑recording and utilise IT systems for case documentation.
• Contribute to business development and promote the firm’s education law services.
• Stay up‑to‑date with developments in education law and related regulatory frameworks.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in education law.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex, multi‑stakeholder cases.
• Strong analytical and client‑focused approach.
• Commitment to the firm’s values of integrity, expertise and straightforward advice.
