Education Lawyer – Solicitor (Hybrid/Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Education Solicitor to join the specialist Education Law Team at Richard Nelson LLP. The role involves providing expert legal advice and representation to teachers, students, parents and educational institutions across a wide range of matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering primary and secondary school admissions appeals, exclusions, independent school disputes, and contractual issues.
• Advise on SEN/EHCP matters, including applications, assessments and appeals.
• Represent university students in sexual allegation cases, misconduct investigations, visa applications and fitness‑to‑practice proceedings.
• Conduct case management efficiently, maintain high professional standards and ensure cost‑effective delivery.
• Utilise time‑recording systems and IT tools to track work and billing.
• Contribute to business development and promote the firm’s education law services.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with proven experience in education law.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases involving schools, trusts and regulatory bodies.
• Strong client‑focused approach with excellent communication skills.
