Education Referrals Coordinator (SEND)

About the role

The Education Referrals Coordinator (SEND) will serve as the primary contact for placement enquiries, guiding student referrals from initial contact through to admission. Working within a dynamic team, you will collaborate with internal SEN specialists and external stakeholders to ensure efficient, compliant placement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Act as central liaison for Local Authorities, commissioning teams, schools, parents and carers regarding student placements.
• Coordinate and track the end‑to‑end pupil referral and admissions workflow across all educational provisions.
• Liaise with Headteachers and senior leadership to assess capacity, slot availability and placement suitability.
• Manage dedicated referral inboxes, delivering rapid and professional responses to high‑volume enquiries.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date referral records and ensure all statutory documentation is complete.
• Partner with Finance to provide data for placement invoicing and support the wider SEN administrative team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in school admissions, local authority SEN consultations or multi‑academy trust data management.
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A*‑C) including English and Maths.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.
