About the role
The Education & Skills Liaison will join a small, dedicated team delivering the Young People Programme for Forces families. You will work remotely from Hampshire, building relationships that help 16‑24 year olds from military backgrounds access education, training and meaningful employment.
Key responsibilities
- Engage, develop and manage partnerships with schools, youth groups, community organisations, military charities, the MOD Education Team, SCiP Alliance, Families Federations, HIVE and other key stakeholders.
- Advocate for children and young people from Forces families, ensuring their needs are represented in programme planning.
- Deliver one‑to‑one mentoring, group workshops, employer events, digital training, work experience placements and apprenticeships.
- Support the programme’s aim to broaden horizons, raise aspirations and build skills and confidence.
Required profile
- Background in education or experience supporting young people to overcome challenges.
- Proven record in a customer‑focused environment, delivering to service level agreements.
- Strong collaborator with influencing, coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Self‑starter with initiative and a passion for the Armed Forces community.
- Understanding of the employment challenges faced by Forces families.
- Operational and administrative competence, knowledge of GDPR and experience using CRMs.
- Lived experience of the Armed Forces lifestyle and NVQ Level 6 in Advice, Information and Guidance.
- Based in Hampshire to support local engagement activities.
