About the role
Richard Nelson LLP is seeking an experienced Education Solicitor to join its specialist Education Law Team. The role involves providing expert legal advice and representation to teachers, students, parents and educational institutions across a wide range of matters.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload covering primary and secondary school admissions, exclusions, independent school disputes, and contractual issues.
- Advise on SEN/EHCP matters, including EHCP applications, assessments and appeals.
- Represent university students in sexual allegation cases, misconduct investigations, visa applications and fitness‑to‑practice proceedings.
- Maintain high professional standards, cost‑effective work practices and accurate time‑recording.
- Contribute to business development and promote the firm’s education law services.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor with proven experience in education law.
- Ability to handle complex, multi‑stakeholder cases efficiently.
- Strong analytical and advocacy skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and firm reputation.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of UK education law.
- Case management and client representation expertise.
- Proficiency with time‑recording systems and general IT tools.
