Electrical and Instrumentation Commissioning Engineer

About the role

You will carry out test and commissioning activities on complex engineering systems, taking ownership of shift tasks and working towards becoming a Subject Matter Expert. You will liaise with stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant work, maintain accurate records and may represent the company during sea trials.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver commissioning and maintenance activities with high autonomy.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures and legislation.
• Maintain accurate, auditable records of all work using company systems.
• Engage and coordinate with stakeholders for safe and efficient task execution.
• Review, challenge and provide feedback on technical documentation.
• Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• Represent the organisation during sea trials and external activities.
• Drive adherence to quality, safety and environmental standards while promoting continuous improvement.

Required profile

• HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a STEM subject or comparable experience.
• Good understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, including testing and fault finding.
• Awareness of safety procedures and experience working in high‑risk environments.
• Ability to produce, read and review technical documents and drawings.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office and other digital systems.
