Electrical Assembly Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join a market‑leading defence and aerospace company. The permanent role is based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire and offers a salary of £34,500 per year. You will work on cable and harness manufacturing, following engineering drawings and work instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture cable and harness assemblies from drawings and engineering instructions.
• Use hand tools, jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment safely and competently.
• Apply ESD controls and maintain clean, organised workstations following 5S methodology.

Required profile

• Experience in cable and harness manufacturing.
• IPC‑620 certification or demonstrable knowledge of IPC/J‑Standards.
• Ability to hand‑solder with high accuracy.
• Proficiency with IT/software packages used in production.

Required skills

• Cable and harness manufacturing to specifications.
• Use of crimp tools.
• Understanding of ESD controls.
• Hand‑soldering.
• IT/Software package usage.
• 5S housekeeping methodology.
