Electrical Assessor & Theory Tutor (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking qualified Electrical Engineering professionals to join a leading private training provider in North East England. The role combines on‑site assessment of apprentices with classroom delivery of advanced electrical theory, including PLC training. The successful candidate will start on 14 September and work full‑time, Monday‑Thursday 8:00‑4:30 and Friday mornings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct monthly on‑site visits to apprentice workplaces to assess progress against national standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to learners when they encounter difficulties.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and portfolios.
• Deliver classroom‑based BTEC/HNC electrical theory lessons, including introductory and intermediate PLC modules.
• Mark assignments, grade coursework and give constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with employers to ensure training aligns with industry needs.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in the electrical trade.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory and control systems.
• Teaching or assessor qualification preferred, but not mandatory – funding available for eligible candidates.

What we offer

• Starting salary £40,000 per year, rising to up to £42,500 after the first year based on performance.
