Electrical Craftsperson – Shift Maintenance Role

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Craftsperson to join the 24/7 maintenance team at our Dunbar cement plant. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical and process control equipment across quarry, kiln, milling, packing and utilities areas on a day‑and‑night shift basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise health, safety and environmental standards, including electrical isolations and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns, perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on plant equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, PLCs, DCS/SCADA, LV & HV motors, switchgear, motor control centres and control gear.
• Carry out systematic fault finding across power, control and process systems in a live production environment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections during shift periods.
• Support operations teams in identifying and resolving plant reliability issues.

Required profile

• Experience working in a shift‑based, 24/7 industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards in heavy industry.
• Ability to work safely with electrical isolations, permit systems and live plant equipment.
