Electrical Design Engineer – Automation & Bespoke Projects

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in automation to become the go‑to engineer for a global vision‑systems specialist. You will design, build and integrate bespoke automated machinery for major manufacturers, working on a variety of projects throughout the year.

Key responsibilities

• Design bespoke automated machinery for manufacturers using Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Create electrical designs and schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Lay out system architecture for automated equipment based on vision‑team concepts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date schematic drawings throughout each project.
• Prepare quotations, support operatives during build, and diagnose issues on site.
• Collaborate with control engineers and production teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Manage approximately seven projects per year from concept to completion.

Required profile

• Electrical Design Engineer with experience in automation.
• Proven track record designing bespoke machinery.
• Willingness to commute to the Didcot office.
• Familiarity with PLCs, electrical schematics and CAD tools.
